    <thetext>See attachment. When you load it, the page should be blank (it works in FF4). However, in tip of tree chrome/webkit, it displays the span, even though the web inspector shows that the CSS rule with display: none is applied to the &lt;span&gt;.

The motivation for this report/reduction is that this apparent bug is causing issues for chrome://settings.</thetext>
